Our Lady and St Patrick’s is the local Catholic Church for The Meadows part of the Catholic Diocese of Nottingham, welcoming worshippers of all ages and backgrounds. We also have a close relationship with our Catholic Schools: St Patrick’s Catholic Primary and Nursery School, a Voluntary Academy and our senior school, The Becket School also a Catholic Voluntary Academy.  Originally our parish was founded by the Irish community which had emigrated to the UK in the 19th Century. (See Parish History for more details). Today, although a small community, we include parishioners from many countries around the world Rwanda, Malawi, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Poland, Philippians, Sri-Lanka, Indian sub-continent … and many other countries as well as retaining our Irish roots. We are hoping to expand our number of Parish Groups: at present we have groups supporting the Sunday Liturgy (readers, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, servers and catechists), we now also have an evangelisation group, “Proclaim”, so we can reach out to the wider community in The Meadows and hopefully increase our numbers.
